Fluorokote #1; Our Thread and Butter
Fluorokote#1® is Metal Coatings Corp.'s response to the traditional blue coatings on the market. This proprietary fluoropolymer coating system has been formulated with superior characteristics for maximum fastener life. Our coating system offers exceptional corrosion resistance, great chemical resistance, zero chance of hydrogen embrittlement, and excellent durability in the most severe environments. Whether its heavy salt, heavy chemical, or heavy corrosion, Fluorokote #1® succeeds where other coatings fail.

Industry Experience
Fluorokote #1 has been proven to stand up against tough conditions across multiple industries. Some industries utilizing Fluorokote #1 are Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, offshore, and waterworks. Leave “Maximum Capability

Large Volume Capability
Our 150,000 sq. ft. of fastener production space gives us the ability to handle regular orders as well as large volume orders. We constantly aspire for maximum efficiency in our shop; giving us the capability of processing 100,000 pounds of fasteners a day. That’s 3 million pounds a month!

Coating Benefits
Fluoropolymer Coating Benefits
Fluorokote #1 offers a large array of benefits, making it a great all-around coating. Fluorokote #1 not only protects the fastener from corrosion, chemicals, galling, and seizing; it also saves turnaround time by eliminating the need for torching, cutting, or nut-splitting at the end of its cycle. We like to call that easy on/easy off. We achieve this by maintaining a low coefficient of friction, which reduces torque requirements. Lastly, during assembly of fasteners in the field, the coating can sometimes be damaged. With most other fluoropolymer coatings, this results in exposed bare metal that quickly begins to corrode and causes the fastener to fail. Our metallic base coat ensures superior corrosion resistance and continues to provide protection even under the harshest conditions. Fluorokote #1 is built to last, no matter where it is.

Fluorokote #1; the premier Blue alternative on the market
Fluorokote #1 was developed as our response to other blue coatings on the market. While it may have a similar look, the characteristics vary drastically. One of the key differentiators is 100% coating of the fastener, even on the threads. While traditional spray methods make it nearly impossible to spray inside the threads, Fluorokote #1 is fully covered; because its whats inside the threads that count. In addition, Fluorokote #1 has great corrosion resistance, coefficient of friction, and chemical resistance, making it a great alternative on any specification or project.
Fluorokote #1 Coating Process
he Fluorokote #1 coating process is rather simple at when looking at it from a high-level view. We start with surface prep. We use the latest industry-accepted methods to thoroughly clean all contaminants from the fasteners. Manufacturing oils, rust and scale are removed to ensure the highest quality coating. Then, a metallic base coat, this allows for your base layer of corrosion resistance. Next is an adhesion coat. The adhesion coat creates a chemical bond between the base coat and the top coat. Finally, we round it off with the top coat. A heat-cured fluoropolymer, which is used to seal the two base coatings and give easy on/easy off characteristics. All of these processes feature advanced computerized, efficient processes that make it that much easier to get your order to you faster. This combination of processes creates the Fluorokote #1® coating process.

Fluorokote #1 Quality Control
etal Coatings maintains the highest quality for our Fluorokote #1 coating system. We don’t just stop at process controls. We have an entire staff of quality staff checking the fasteners at every step of the process. Not only that, our QMS is ISO 9001:2015 certified and follows the standards laid out therein. Applications
Fluoropolymer coatings from Metal Coatings Corp. have solved problems in many industries and applications. FluroKote #1® is the perfect replacement for traditional metal coatings such as zinc or cadmium plating. Due to its unique benefits, FluoroKote #1® has been used for various types and grades of fasteners.
The waterworks industry takes advantage of the superior corrosion resistance properties by coating T-head bolts for underground service. Stainless steel fasteners, used in many different industries, are coated for lubricity and anti-galling. The most widely used metal coating application is on B7 studs with 2H nuts. These fasteners are commonly used by turnaround groups, operations and maintenance departments, and contractors at many chemical plants, refineries, and offshore platforms.
The coating's chemical resistance, and easy on/easy off characteristics are perfect for these environments. A few specific applications where problems have been solved by using this metal coating process are:
- Oxygen Service
- Phosgene gas lines
- Boiler rooms
- Gas meters
- Monochlorobenzene (MCB)
- Anhydrous HCL
- Water Lines
- Insulated piping
- Non-insulated piping
- Formaldehyde
- Aniline
- Steam
